Gamla Stan (Old Town) is the historical heart of Stockholm and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. The colorful buildings, cobblestone streets, and well-preserved medieval structures take you back in time. Here you can explore the Royal Palace, take a walk along Mårten Trotzigs gränd (Sweden's narrowest street), and end the day with a warm cup of coffee or tea at one of the cozy cafes.
In this old part of town, you'll also find our small and charming hotel, Scandic Gamla Stan, near Kornhamnstorg and Slussen – the perfect place to stay if you wish to explore the neighborhood and all its charms. Within a short walking distance from Gamla Stan, you'll also find our most urban hotel, Downtown Camper By Scandic, which offers a spectacular view of both Gamla Stan and Södermalm from The Nest, its popular rooftop bar.

Known for its bohemian atmosphere, Södermalm is home to some of the most trendy and creative neighborhoods in Stockholm. “Söder”, as it’s referred to by locals, encompasses the southern inner-city island of Stockholm and offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, and nightlife. With a view of the city from Monteliusvägen – and the rooftop terrace at Scandic Sjöfartshotellet – you can experience Södermalm's unique charm. Whether you're attending events at the Avicii Arena or Tele2 Arena in Johanneshov or simply exploring all the attractions of Södermalm up close, Scandic Malmen at Medborgarplatsen and Scandic Sjöfartshotellet at Slussen are two excellent hotel choices due to their central locations on Södermalm.

Östermalm is one of the more exclusive areas in Stockholm, known for its elegant shops, numerous nightclubs, world-class restaurants, and beautiful parks. Djurgården, an inner city National Park with large open green areas, is one of the highlights of the neighborhood and an excellent place for a picnic or a walk. On Djurgården, you can also experience Gröna Lund's Tivoli and Skansen. Östermalm is also home to many of Stockholm's most famous museums, including the National Museum, Moderna Museet, Vasamuseet, and ABBA The Museum. Scandic has several hotels with excellent locations if you’re looking to explore Östermalm and Djurgården up close. Vasastan is a charming neighborhood with a relaxed atmosphere. Here you'll find beautiful buildings, green parks, and a range of cozy restaurants and cafes. The neighborhood is popular among locals and visitors and is known for its street festivals and art galleries. A walk along Vasastan's beautiful streets will take you to places like Vasaparken, Observatorielunden and Odenplan, where you can enjoy a bit of calmness amidst the city's hustle and bustle. Discover Kungsholmen's lovely waterfront with a walk from the City Hall all the way down to Rålambshovparken. Along the way you can enjoy the beautiful view of Stockholm. Kungsholmen also offers a wide range of restaurants and bars, many of which are located along the waterfront, making them perfect for a romantic dinner or a relaxed evening with your friends.
